our.ink gives each publisher a protected online library with its own shop. Readers buy, highlight and take notes; you decide who reads which book, for how long, and at what price.

Features
Each publisher has its own reader site with its name, colors and fonts, on its own domain with automatic HTTPS. Publishers without a domain of their own can host their library and its home page on an our.ink address. our.ink appears only as a small "Powered by" line.
Pages are sent as images marked for each reader. The PDF never leaves the server, page views are logged and rate-limited, and sign-ups are checked for bots without puzzles.
The shared parts of each page are served from Cloudflare's global content distribution network, and the next pages load ahead while the reader reads. Readers in China, Finland, Singapore, and the USA have reported quick page change times. Try our demo to test it out!
One page or two side by side, zoom and fit to the page or its width, and a focus view. Turn pages with the keys, the side arrows or a swipe on phones and tablets.
Readers highlight, underline, mark areas and write notes straight on the page, move and resize them, and find them again in the Tools panel and in a list for each book.
Contents, cross-references and citations in the PDF jump to the right page, and web and email links open, just as in the original.
The reader, its emails and the publisher console are in English and Simplified Chinese. Each publisher chooses its languages, and readers switch at any time. Other languages added on demand.
Each book can have a free sample that readers open straight from the publisher's site. Visitors see covers and the library before they sign up.
Readers buy a year of reading from the publisher's shop page, by card, Alipay or WeChat Pay, with reminders before access ends. Nothing is on sale until the publisher confirms the price and releases the book.
Lower prices for launch weeks and special days, or codes for a class or a group, limited by email address or domain. The publisher sees every price before a discount goes live.
A sales page with refunds and CSV export, a daily sales email, and a nightly check of every payment against Stripe.
Readers can have access to a publisher's whole library or to single books. Every grant shows how it was given and when it ends, and you can end it at any time.
Instead of printed review copies, send a link for 30, 60 or 90 days of reading. A link can be for one person or a group, and can be switched off.
Readers send comments about the book to the publisher, from the page they are on, and say whether you may quote them. Problems with the reader itself go to the our.ink team.
Publishers add links and files for each book, for everyone or only for its readers, on a resources page under their own domain.
Owners, admins and editors for each publisher. Upload books in four image quality levels, manage readers, members, access, prices and the shop, and see usage figures with CSV export.
Each publisher's books, readers, sales and discount codes are kept apart in the database itself, with row-level security, not only in the application.
No Google fonts, analytics or tracking scripts: the reader and its fonts load from our own server, through Cloudflare's network.
